SPECIAL OLYMPICS HISTORY
Special Olympics was created by the Joseph P.
Kennedy Foundation as an international
non-profit organization to provide competitive
sports experiences for people with intellectual
disabilities.  It was founded by the late Eunice
Kennedy Shriver in 1968.
